Sony 5 discs carousel CD player repair, bought for spares 10 euros. This video shows a common fault on 5 discs Sony players. The player is delirious ! Another repair strory : www.youtube.com NOTE : To open a stucked tray, for taking blocked CD's inside the unit by example... simply use a little flat screwdriver and gently turn the gear under the unit, to tray will normaly open if nothing is broken or too misadjusted. Don't force ! Never reverse (upside-down) the unit if CD's are inside ! Because when the player is powered up, the disc table turns for determining the disc table position. On some models if the disc table position can't be determinated the tray won't open. Also, check the white flat wire and the white gear under the disc table, often loosing or had distorded teeths. The gear part number is : 4-957-284-01 (495728401), or IW246 for compatible available at kpcomponents.ca. Pictures at the end of the video shows the CDP-CE525 model but the mechanism is nearly the same. SM : www.electronica.ro 1 - If the disc table is forcing : Remove the top cover. Upside down the unit. Remove the bottom plate. Unplug front panel flat wires (1,2 or 3). Remove the front panel assy. Upward the unit. Remove the central screw of the disc table. Put away the disc table. Check the motor (Mabuchi FF-130SH, change or remove and inject WD-40 inside) Check the little belt. Relube and grease the horizontal black/grey shaft. Check the the white gear.
